The Official Sponsor of Birthdays

Who is it you ask?  Why, the American Cancer Society.  Yesterday, I attended the first annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life Oklahoma Summit in OKC.  It was so inspiring to hear from several cancer survivors about their journeys to Stay Well, Get Well, Find Cures, and Fight Back.  I'm hoping to do the same by making the American Cancer Society the Official Sponsor of my birthday, which happens to be on January 23rd.  If you'd like to celebrate my birthday by making a donation to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Tulsa, do so here.  Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature fundraising event.

Holly Jolly Christmas

So it was a VERY white Christmas this year and I spent a cozy 5 days at my parents house beacuse the snow was so deep on my driveway that it couldn't be shoveled!  I posted lots of pictures to my Facebook page, check them out here.  I still haven't put my decorations away because I'm waiting for it to warm up enough to take down my lights outside...hopefully that'll be tomorrow, here's hoping for 40+ degrees!!!

'Tis the Season

Christmas is a wonderful time of year, but it always goes by so fast!

I've already been to 3 different parties just in the first week of December.  The first was for the ladies' group at my mom's church, held in Owasso at the gorgeous home of Barbara Layton.  Of her four (yes, FOUR) Christmas trees, my favorite is a white one that she decorates with hot pink lights and a variety of pink and white feminine ornaments like feathers, tea cups, jewels, etc.  I would love to have a tree in every room of my house, each decorated in a different theme. 

The other two parties I attended were both on Saturday night, each at the home of a high school classmate.  At the first everyone exchanged inexpensive Christmas tree ornaments and at the second I competed in a tacky Christmas sweater contest (thanks, Mom, for the sweatshirt).  Both were lots of fun and it was nice to spend time with friends I don't see as often as I'd like.  I'm already thinking about hosting a party of my own next year!  We'll see...

Just the beginning...

Well, I finally decided to jump on the bandwagon.  I enjoy reading several other people's blogs so I thought "Hey, maybe someone will get a kick out of knowing what I think!"
